CAMERA NAZIONALE DELLA MODA ITALIANA READY TO LAUNCH NEW NAMES
5 YOUNG BRANDS SELECTED FOT THE FASHION INCUBATOR
After the great success of the first two editions, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana continues this important experience by promoting the third edition of the Fashion Incubator.
62 candidates responded to the announcement of competition, which was both publicized on the CNMI website and aired by RadioMonteCarlo. On March 19th 2009 a select jury met the 25 candidates who had passed the first selection and chose the protagonists of the third edition of the Fashion Incubator.
The jury was composed by BEPPE ANGIOLINI President of Camera Nazionale dei Buyer, SUSANNA AVESANI buyer, Studio Avesani, CHRISTINE ELLIS buyer, Ellis Associates, FABIANA GIACOMOTTI, Il Mondo, SIMONE MARCHETTI, Seidimoda, TITTI MATTEONI Fashion, Editor in Chief, RENATA MOLHO, Il Sole 24 ore, ANNE MARIE PALTSOU buyer, Sacks Fifth Avenue, CATERINA RORRO, Marketing and Communication Director of Lectra, technical sponsor of the project, DANDA SANTINI Elle Italia, Editor in Chief, MARIA LUISA TRUSSARDI GAVAZZENI, FULVIA VISCONTI FERRAGAMO, GIULIA PIROVANO Director of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.
The Jury’s selection:
– Cristiano Burani – 38 years old from Reggio Emilia – degree in medicine and short courses at the Parson’s School, New York
– Mauro Gasperi – 30, Brescia – studies at Polimoda, Firenze
– Paolo Errico – 33, studies at the University of Urbino
– Cristina Miraldi – 26, Milan – studies at the Istituto Marangoni, Milan
– Alessandro Biasi, Andrea Orazi, Simona Costa : Alessandro 26, Andrea 23, Simona 25, have all attended Naba – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan.
The project is funded and supported by the Municipality of Milan and co-financed by Camera della Moda. Thanks to the determination and far-sightedness of Luigi Rossi Bernardi – City Councillor for Researhc, Innovation, Human Resources – a “Rete degli Incubatori”, a network of incubators in the Milan area, has been set up for this new edition in order to create a structured, organized and homogeneous system for sharing methods and good practices.
According to Cav.Lav. Mario Boselli the Fashion Incubator success bears witness to the great attention given by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana to the new generations of designers and the future of Made in Italy.
The first appointment will be in June with MILANO MODA PRE-COLLEZIONI: they will present a foretaste of the spring-summer collection 2010.
The headquarters of the Incubator, always with S.I.A.M ( Società di Incoraggiamento d’Arti e Mestieri),18 via Santa Marta , are ready to accomodate the young designers’ offices and host meetings with the consultants and professionals who will help them with the collection design, company establishment, brand registration, communication and distribution
In September 2009 the long-awaited appointment with the collection presentation: a fashion show at MILANO MODA DONNA .
